Deborah Matthews has had a distinguished career in public education.  She has worked successfully with teachers and administrators at all levels and supported gifted education throughout the state.  Prior to her work as an Instructional Coach, Deborah led staff development in a number of settings, including reading and differentiated instruction. She has a broad  perspective of education in North Carolina having worked in numerous regions. Her work in Wake County offered a unique experience - working directly with 135 principals and 100 AIG teachers and oversight of 25,000 AIG students.  Centrally, she managed a staff of 5 and a multimillion dollar budget.
